Wentzle really loves his bottle. He even has started to hold his bottle while eating, sort of.

Bath Time

Wentzle's bath time.
He really likes taking baths with daddy or mommy.

Good Eatin'

I accidently got this footage. Listen closely. Yes, that is what you think it is. He must have had a good meal.

Rollin' Over...

... I actually saw him roll over, finally! Now he seems to like to do it alot. I put him down to sleep on his stomach and he is usually on his back when I go to get him up.

DA

Wentzle had his 4 month old check up today. He is already 13 lbs, 4oz and measures at 24 in. He has grown and changed so much over the last 4 months! He is really becoming more aware of his surroundings. He coos and giggles alot more, which is really cute. It appears all of whatever it was he had last week is gone. The doctor didn't have any more info as to what it could have been.
Other than enjoying having Went back to his old self, we now have to focus on packing. We sign on the new house in only 2 weeks. Where has the summer gone? I am not ready for it to be over. We actually had snow/hail this last weekend. Yes, snow in August. It's just not right!

Sick Boy

Wentzle got sick for the first time last Sunday night. He woke up in the middle of the night screaming and nothing could calm him. Carlin took him on a car ride (so I could get a few hours of sleep before work), which worked great for Went, not so much for Daddy. Monday was not too bad. He didn't eat much and had a fever. Monday night came and the same thing happened again, waking up screaming. Daddy once again took him for a car ride. By Tuesday morning, Wentzle was just not happy, so Daddy took him to the doctor. They were hoping it was just an ear infection, no luck. (he also developed a rash while at the Doctors office) We had to go to the ER to get an x-ray (horrible thing to watch an infant go through), blood work and urine work done. It was a very long day for everyone. They finally figured it was just some kind of viral pneumonia and gave him a shot of antibiotics and sent us home. Went slept for almost 7 hours (we usually only get 3-4 hours) that night. The next day, no fever and Went's appetite was back. We are still trying to recover from the whole experience.

Growing Boy...

Wentzle's first time eating rice cereal.

He didn't want to let go of the bowl.

Wentzle is almost 4 months, which is a bit early to try rice cereal, but we thought we would give it a go, since the boy has been eating so much. The first night, it went okay. I don't think he really knew what to do with the stuff once it got in his mouth. A lot of it ended up on his bib and he still wanted a bottle afterwards. The second time we tried, it didn't fly at all. He wouldn't even try to swallow. So, we have decided to wait a week and try it again. I am really hope he starts eating it and sleeping longer during the night. (I would love 6 hours of sleep consistently.)

Grandma Shotts' Latest Visit!

Wentzle's grandma Shotts came up to Breckenridge to hang out with Wentzle and me (Carlin). We spent the day outside by the pool at Grand Timber and had lunch. Wentzle loves his time with grandma and sleeps very well after receiving all of her love and attention.
What made this visit extra-special was that after Grandma left Beckenridge and got back home Castle Rock, it wasn't seven hours later and the hospital called to tell grandma and grandpa that grandma was going to get her new lungs. We've all been waiting so anxiously for this moment that we started to think it may never happen. So this really felt like a miracle, and having Wentzle spend the day with his grandma Shotts just made the timing seem perfect.
Right now Grandma is recovering at University Hospital in Denver, while all of her family and loved ones are thinking about her constantly and wishing for the quickest and most complete recovery possible. Wentzle can't wait to see his grandma shotts again and go on a nice long walk with her.

We Love You Mom!
