Backyard Camping

Since W didn't get to camp this summer, we decided to camp in Grandma & Grandpa Shotts' backyard. W loved it! He had his own mattress and sleeping bag. We had to skip the smores (he didn't seem to mine, since he got cake and ice cream).

more hiking

This fall has brought some beautiful weather our way. We recently went hiking by Lake Dillon. W actually walked/ran the first half of the hike! C carried him on the way back. He was such a trooper. He got a rock and some flowers as souvenirs.

Duck Race

We visited the Labor Day Weekend Duck Race in Breck. W enjoyed. It was a beautiful day. I must say, this summer we have been really lucky with a lot of great weather.











W and C waiting for the race to start. People buy rubber duckies to race for changes to win prizes. There are 3 heats, where the town releases a bunch of rubber ducks and spectators cheer them on to the finish line. It's a pretty slow race. We only made it through the first heat.

Scooting

W finding more uses for his "ramp". I don't know what he will do next summer when we landscape the dirt. C may have to build him a real ramp.

W loves the new backyard. There is great terrain for riding his motorcycle (4 wheeler).

Big Boy Bed

W finally got his big boy bed. The transition has been going really well. He has only fell out of bed once (he was sleeping so hard, he never even woke up)

We had a "sleepover" the weekend after we got everything put together. We had popcorn and watched a movie on the top bunk. W and I shared the bottom and C slept on the top. It was pretty exciting.

W in his "fort". Since we built it, he tends to sleep on the bottom. He got into sleeping on the top for a while, which is nice since he can't get down.
