Our Sick Baby...

...has RSV.  (Respiratory syncytial virus is a very common virus that leads to mild, cold-like symptoms in adults and older children but it can be more serious in young babies).
He has to be on oxygen as treatment.  Unlucky kid.  We were so close to not dealing with oxygen.  Neither Zeph or W had to have oxygen when they were newborns (which seems to be more rare where we live, most babies leave the hospital with it).  Needless to say, Zeph didn't take well to it.

So, now we get to have this huge oxygen tank in our little house.
(W thinks it's like a vacuum, because it has wheels & a handle).

It took a while, but Zeph finally succumbed to wearing the nasal cannula.  We are really hoping he only needs it for four or five days tops.  Then the tape had to come off.  Sigh.  That did not go so great.  He now has these circular band aid looking things on his face.  They come with an adhesive remover!  What kind of adhesive that you put on skin needs a remover?  I think C is going to have the duty of taking them off.  It's too painful to listen to Zeph's silent cry as you have to rip them off his face.  So sad.

Considering all that Zeph has been through in the last couple of days, he is still a pretty happy kid.  Lets hope he stays that way.

Skiing

W took to the slopes for the for the second time this season with his friend Mads.  It was a beautiful day.  He even got his first season pass.  He's still "free" until he turns five, but he needs a lift ticket to ride the chair. W also used a harness for the first time.  It went good.  We may still get W to take a run on his own this season, but I am not holding my breathe.

The chair W rides and the run he skis.  There is no good place to stand at the bottom to actually see W making his turns while wearing a baby.  (I just don't trust that all skiiers/riders are able to stop proficiently).  Though some day I will get those pics.

Ski Bunny Zeph.
Zeph hung out with me, Jax & Jenny (Mads bro and mom) at the base.

W after a few awesome runs, waiting for his warm cocoa.

Heading for the gondola after a hard day on the hill.
W and Mads even carried their skis, most of the way.

Rock stars hanging at Elevation, while C returns the gear.  C has started skiing again after almost 14 years of snowboarding.  So, both he and W rent their gear when they go out.  I think W really likes the whole process.

Family Pet

This is Zed.  He has been through a lot in the last few years.  He used to be the baby in the family.  Then we had W and life changed for Zed.  He had to share and Zed doesn't like to share.  When W started to walk, Zed retreated even more (Zed is only about 12 lbs)  We threw Zed a curve when I got pregnant again with Zeph.  But that wasn't the only change Zed had to deal with in the last year, he lost his "sister" Zoey (our black lab).  Zed didn't let this get him down.  He has taken to being an only dog better than we expected.  He really likes not fighting for table scraps and having the ottoman to himself.  He sometimes gets to go to work with C.  Since Zeph has joined the fam, Zed has actually shown a little more interest in the boys.  He gives kisses to Zeph, takes food from W and even has played fetch with W.  Things have been turning up Zed lately.

This is Gigi.  She is W's "dog".  He remembers to feed her (more than he does Zed), walks her (in the house), takes her for car rides, ties her up (so she doesn't run away) and wraps her up in a blanket at night (so she doesn't get cold).
Needless to say, Zed has competition again in the form of a little, cuddly stuffed poodle.

We've got a swimmer

Zeph has really started to stretch his legs in the tub.  We put him on his back and he kicks and kicks.  We can't wait to get him in the pool.  We are really hoping W gets more comfortable in the water and will be kicking like Zeph.  Last time he was in the pool (last summer before Zeph came), he only wanted to swim attached to Daddy.  We will see what he does this year.

Sleep

W fell a sleep on the couch one afternoon.  Even when C came home, he did not wake.  With Zeph climbing on him, he did not wake.  W was really a sleep.  We take all of the naps we can get from this kid, since he stopped napping long a go.

Kidtopia 2012

We went to Kidtopia at Keystone over the weekend.
Fun was had by all.  The weather was great!
Unfortunately there are only 2 more Kidtopias left for the winter season.

Doing crafts - sand bracelets and dog tags.

W loves to pose.  C not so much, but he is wearing Zeph, so it's part of the job.

Enjoying kettle corn and hot cocoa by the ice rink (which is new this year)

Watching the parade (if you can call it that).  It starts at the base of the gondola at 4pm, so it consists of some Keystone staff, but mostly of skiers/boarders exiting the mountain.
Next time we may try to get on the horse drawn wagon.

W hang'in at Ripperoo's Cabin.

Playing around.

W lovin' the photo ops.
I try to take advantage of these, since W changes his mind on getting photos taken day to day.

more fun in the snow

We went sledding across the street recently.  W did a couple of runs by himself, so did Daddy.

Zeph fell a sleep.  It amazes me that he finds the carrier to be so comfy.
