...has RSV. (Respiratory syncytial virus is a very common virus that leads to
mild, cold-like symptoms in adults and older children but it can be
more serious in young babies).
He has to be on oxygen as treatment. Unlucky kid. We were so close to not dealing with oxygen. Neither Zeph or W had to have oxygen when they were newborns (which seems to be more rare where we live, most babies leave the hospital with it). Needless to say, Zeph didn't take well to it.
So, now we get to have this huge oxygen tank in our little house.
(W thinks it's like a vacuum, because it has wheels & a handle).
It took a while, but Zeph finally succumbed to wearing the nasal cannula. We are really hoping he only needs it for four or five days tops. Then the tape had to come off. Sigh. That did not go so great. He now has these circular band aid looking things on his face. They come with an adhesive remover! What kind of adhesive that you put on skin needs a remover? I think C is going to have the duty of taking them off. It's too painful to listen to Zeph's silent cry as you have to rip them off his face. So sad.
Considering all that Zeph has been through in the last couple of days, he is still a pretty happy kid. Lets hope he stays that way.
