Breckenridge hosts The International Snow Sculpture Championships every year in January. Teams come from all over to compete. The town brings almost 320 tons of snow to the River Walk Center (the site of the competition). The teams have four days to finish their visions and then they are judged and a winner is announced. The first evening after the sculptures are done, they are lit and some even use fire. It is really amazing to watch the transformation of the snow blocks into sculptures.
The photo to the left is of W with the winning sculpture.
For us, this year's Snow Sculpture viewing was pretty cold. We always seem to miss the opening night when they light the sculptures and reveal the winners.
Sorry the photos are not the best. I forgot the camera and smartphone cameras are just not meant to capture an energetic 3 1/2 year old on a cold night.
We stopped by Mi Casa after viewing the sculptures.
