W's 4th

W's 4th birthday was a success!  10 of the 11 kids invited showed up.  We were a bit surprised, since it was spring break for the school kids in Summit County.
We had his super hero party at the fire station (they let you have a 2 hour "visit" for free!  They set up tables & chairs right in the bay with the trucks.  The snow didn't come until later on Saturday, so we were able to have the doors open).  The firefighters were awesome!  We served super hero subs and had homemade carrot cupcakes (made by C, of course).  C and I made capes and masks for all of the kids, which were not as excited as we had hoped they would be, but what can you expect from 3-5 year olds.  We had some balloons, which kept the kids entertained for most of the party.  At the end, they got to pop them (sorry I did not get photos of this, it was quite a sight).  I wish we could have visited more with the other parents, but 2 hours was perfect for a 4 year old's birthday.   The only issue, we may have set the bar too high for birthdays to come.

The firefighters let the kids climb around in the truck and showed them their tools

Zeph was pretty entertained by the whole scene.

The kids all lined up holding the hose...  which they thought was pretty cool.

Zeph was pretty entertained by the whole scene.

"Eating" cupcakes.  Most kids just ate the frosting.

Present opening frenzy.  Tt was was hard to keep up.
The kids all bombarded W wanting him to open their gift first.

Notice how the group gets smaller towards the end of the frenzy.
The party pretty much was over after the presents were all opened.
