ride

The boys got a treat recently.  We got a big box, so C just had to make a car out of it.  Actually, W asked for one.  This was Zeph's first experience with a cardboard ride.  It had doors that opened and closed, steering wheel and even a sun roof that opened.  They had a blast well it lasted.  Since our place is so small, they got 3 days of play before W helped destroy it and put it out for the recycling man.

sunday paper

W loves to get the Sunday paper.  He usually runs down and gets it while we wait upstairs and wave to him.  Zeph thinks it's great.  It was a bit snowy this day (which we have not seen since).  W was tough, he had just got his first boxers and he wanted to wear them outside.  We were able to talk him into a jacket & hat.
He is such a great little helper (when he wants to be).

halloween

Halloween was pretty exciting this year.  Since it fell on a day the boys go to school, they got to wear two costumes!  Both wear Super Heros at school and then W was a pirate and Zeph was a Dinosaur.  We were really lucky this year and had a nice evening for trick-or-treating.

Super Heros.
No matter how hard we tried, I could not get a photo with Z's mask on.

Argh, pirate W.

Heading out to trick-or-treat.

W heading up to get a treat.
Zeph with his first piece of candy.  He held onto that for most of the night.

Zeph got drive thru candy service at a few houses.
He got to trick-or-treat on our green with daddy while W and I handed out candy.

W handing out candy.  He loved it!
The festivities start at 4 pm in our hood and now includes the most of the neighborhood.  (when we first moved in, there was a designated area for trick-or-treating.  I think some people felt left out, so they just starting participating.)

W and Zeph hanging out on the porch.

We had one hiccup this Halloween.  W accidentally ate peanut butter.  We went through his candy and thought what was left of his loot was safe .  We were wrong.  A chocolate eyeball was the culprit.  W even asked and we said yes.  It looked like an innocent piece of chocolate, who knew it would have peanut butter center?  It's crazy that anyone hands out PB anymore, it seems like every other kid has a PB allergy.  W got some benedryl and recovered nicely.  I guess next year we will have to bit into all of his candy to make sure.
On the flip side, Zeph really enjoyed his 2 pieces of candy (a sucker and hersheys bar) he got to eat.
